Bintan Anmon 2019: Day 3

Updated: Jan 14, 2020

To catch the sunrise, we woke up in the wee hours and waited eagerly for the sun to rise. I was surprised at how blue the sky was before the sun came out. Soon, a flaming ball of fire appeared slowly above the horizon. It was breathtaking. However, it paled in comparison to the sunset yesterday when we returned from the Kelong. It was that special.

Even after we checked out, there was plenty of time. So, we decided to rent a scooter while waiting for the ferry. Just yesterday, I struggled to control the scooter. It was an electric bike, but to me, it felt like a real motorcycle. Just a flick of your wrist and you can achieve great speed! It was difficult to control. I had no confidence in myself. However, after much practise I realized I could ride by myself! My confidence grew and I started going faster and further! I reminded myself that it was just like riding a bicycle. Soon, it was no challenge at all. I could even ferry my father! Riding a scooter was definitely faster than a bicycle, and looked so much cooler! Alas, I will not be able to ride it in Singapore. Who knows, when I will get this chance again?

Do you want to ride with me?

Eventually, it was time to leave. Even though we came to Bintan several times, but this was an entirely different experience! Spending the night in a teepee tent was a special experience. However, my favourite part of the trip was the boat ride back. That feeling of seeing an eerie yet beautiful sunset while on the boat was indescribable. This trip gave me a very lasting impression! I hope to come back here in the future, but I have to work hard first so that I can play harder again!
